Gender equality index
In 2019, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc received the Professional Equality Label, a recognition supported by the French government and distributed to companies and enterprises that demonstrate a concerted effort to promote professional equality amongst their employees. As of March 1, 2020, the gender equality index at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc has reached 84/100 points. Gender equality in the workplace is a priority for all Oetker Collection Masterpiece Hotels. Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc’s ambition is to maintain this level in the future and to make equality the standard, ensuring the collective enrichment of the hotel’s talented teams.
Open dialog meeting
Each season, our crafters of paradise are invited to meet with the General Manager and Human Resources Director for discussions about the hotel.
An osteopath is made available for employees two days per month during the hotel's season.
An insect hotel is installed in the garden — a fun tool for teaching children about natural habitats.
This season, four beehives are being set up on the grounds. They are inhabited by bees that will produce a fragrant homemade honey.
Following an audit by our partners at the League for Bird Protection, birdhouses were installed on the grounds to help develop local flora and fauna.
Our goal is to reduce waste to a strict minimum. Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc conducts daily efforts to ensure responsible waste conversion and reduction.
Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc relies on hydropower for 50% of its electricity consumption. All incandescent light bulbs have been replaced by LED light bulbs.
Sustainable purchasing policy
We conduct detailed research on our suppliers to learn about their CSR strategy. Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc's goal is to work solely with suppliers who commit to eliminating the use of single-use packaging.
All of our collaborators receive training each season on the sustainable development initiatives happening internally.
The Giving Bag provides guests with an opportunity to donate their unwanted clothing to a charity.
Our boutique favours brands and products that meet sustainability criteria with regards to sourcing, production and materials.
Made up of members from every department, our CSR team brainstorms and carries out projects to improve employee wellbeing and sustainable development across the hotel.
Guest transport within the hotel is by electric cart. Electric bicycles are also available for guest use.
Our gardeners maintain a vegetable and herb garden that supply ingredients for dishes in our restaurants and smoothies at the Juice & Ice Cream Bar.
Carbon footprint report
In 2017, the hotel produced a report to evaluate its carbon footprint. The report has made it possible to identify the greatest sources of greenhouse gasses and to establish methods for the reduction of emissions.
Commitment to sustainable communities
We favour local producers, which is a commitment to the rich agricultural heritage of our region.
Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc has partnered with Espace Mer et Littoral in Antibes Juan-les-Pins since 2016 to preserve the Mediterranean coastline.
In partnership with the Red Cross of Antibes, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc hosts the Red Cross Gala every year.
